Dongyang, a county-level city of Jinhua, released the city's new logo and a pair of mascots named "Xiangyangyang" and "Dongyingying" on Sept 9.
The city images aim to show the history and traditional culture of Dongyang as a city of education, architecture, arts and crafts, and film and television tourism.
The city logo is in the shape of the Chinese character "东" in an ink style. With a red sun on its top, it symbolizes people's desire to see a flourishing city with continuous development. Elements inspired by the Former Residence of Lu and Dongyang wood carving show the city's long history and profound cultural heritage.

The pair of mascots named "Xiangyangyang" and "Dongyingying" appear cute and energetic, like the people of Dongyang.
They will be painted in different colors to be widely used for urban public facilities, official activities, urban windows, public welfare publicity, foreign trade, cultural exchanges and more.
A series of cultural products based on the two mascots, including plush toys and ornaments, have also been launched.
