Jinhua's foreign trade grows 24.6% from Jan to July

Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, posted a 24.6 percent year-on-year increase in foreign trade in the first seven months of 2022, according to the latest data from Jinhua Customs.

The value of the city's imports and exports totaled 385.23 billion yuan ($56.21 billion) during this period. Exports grew 20.9 percent year-on-year to 342.29 billion yuan, while imports increased 64 percent year-on-year to 42.94 billion yuan. The value of its foreign trade accounted for 14.2 percent of the provincial total.

In July, the city's foreign trade increased by 12.6 percent month-to-month to 64.66 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31 percent. The city's imports achieved a record high of 7.17 billion yuan, up 52.4 percent annually.

Private enterprises remained an important force in stabilizing the city's foreign trade. From January to July in 2022, foreign trade among private enterprises in the city increased by 31.3 percent annually to 63.48 billion yuan, accounting for 98.2 percent of the city's total foreign trade value.

During the same period, the imports and exports of foreign-invested enterprises rose 19.6 percent year-on-year to 1.02 billion yuan.

In July, exports of the city's high-tech products surged 148.9 percent year-on-year to 5.19 billion yuan, accounting for 9 percent of the city's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports of solar cells saw a four-fold increase to 4.15 billion yuan.
