In the first six months of 2022, Jinhua Customs issued 1,566 certificates of origin under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership for exports worth 430 million yuan ($63.75 million), according to local media outlets.

During the period, goods worth 41 million yuan were imported from RCEP member countries, reducing taxes by about 420,000 yuan for local enterprises.

Chen Jingxia, manager of the business department of Dongyang Peony Economic and Trade Co, said that the RCEP brought new business opportunities after being hit by the global epidemic.

According to Chen, from January to June this year, the company's exports increased by 29 percent year-on-year to 330 million yuan. Among them, exports to Japan exceeded 43 million yuan, 152 times the amount last year.

The RCEP, which came into force on Jan 1, 2022, comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries including 10 ASEAN member states and their five trading partners, namely China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
