Jinhua's foreign trade grows 23.3% in H1

Jinhua's imports and exports were valued at 320.57 billion yuan ($47.48 billion) in the first half of this year, an increase of 23.3 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics from Jinhua Customs.

The value of exports totaled 284.8 billion yuan, rising 19.4 percent year-on-year, while imports amounted to 35.77 billion yuan, a surge of 66.5 percent.

In the first half of the year, the city's exports ranked second in the province following Ningbo, while growth in imports topped the province.

During this period, the city's general trade imports and exports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year to 44.23 billion yuan, accounting for 45 percent of the city's total. Exports by market procurement increased by 13.6 percent year-on-year to 151.93 billion yuan, accounting for 53.3 percent of the city's total.

The city's trade with the United States, European Union, and South Korea increased by 41.1 percent, 43.2 percent, and 67 percent respectively. Imports and exports to emerging markets such as Africa, ASEAN and India increased by 2.2 percent, 14 percent and 80.5 percent, respectively.

Exports of high-tech products accounted for 9.3 percent of the city's total, up 4.3 percentage points, while exports of solar cells reached 19.67 billion yuan, 2.3 times higher than that of last year.
