Pujiang pursues digital transformation

Enterprises in Pujiang county, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, have been making efforts in digital and intelligent transformation.

Zhejiang Hangji Machine Tool Co is a provincial pilot firm of the "future factory" project. According to a higher-up at the company, they can find real-time data in their system on all manufacturing and management links, including material and product management, production control, sales, and design.

The company is now showing improved competitiveness with a digital workshop platform, three-dimensional product design system, product life-cycle management platform, production monitoring platform, equipment networking platform, service internet of things platform and equipment monitoring platform.

According to the company, the product development period has been shortened by 33 percent, the product defect rate has decreased by 10 percent, the energy utilization rate has increased by 19 percent, the labor productivity of all employees has increased by 110 percent, and the proportion of employees working with information technology has reached 85 percent. The company will continue to improve the intelligent manufacturing system and strive to receive provincial approval as a pilot firm.

In addition, a series of measures and financial support related to the digital transformation of enterprises has been released by the local government of Pujiang. Zhejiang Pujiang Rural Commercial Bank has issued 560 million yuan ($83.16 million) in loans to 77 technology-based enterprises, helping traditional industries gradually realize digital transformation and upgrading.
