Zhejiang province recently launched the province's fourth science and technology innovation corridor – the Central Zhejiang Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Development Plan – in an effort to supply the existing G60 Science and Innovation Corridor, a high-tech manufacturing zone connecting Shanghai and eight other cities in the delta.

The new development plan was released by the local government of Jinhua, Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Bureau.

The Central Zhejiang Science and Technology Innovation Corridor will be centered on Jinhua Science and Technology City and Yiwu Science and Technology City and supported by Zhejiang Normal University Innovation City, Central Innovation City, Optoelectronics Innovation City, and Jinlan Innovation City.

The corridor will cover about 179 square kilometers and link six cities: Dongyang, Pujiang, Pan'an, Lanxi, Wuyi and Yongkang. It will work with similiar science and technology innovation corridors to promote the high-tech development of the Yangtze River Delta.

In addition, Jinhua will focus on developing key industries such as information technology application innovation, photovoltaics, digital trade, modern Chinese medicine, medical machinery, and modern agricultural machinery and equipment.
