Jinhua's foreign trade up 43.5% in Q1

Foreign trade in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, increased by 43.5 percent year-on-year to 153.46 billion yuan ($23.43 billion) from January to March 2022, according to data from the local customs.

During that period, Jinhua's total exports increased by 38.2 percent year-on-year to 135.38 billion yuan. Imports were up 101.1 percent year-on-year, reaching 18.08 billion yuan..

Jinhua exported 21.92 billion yuan, 21.23 billion yuan and 14.01 billion yuan in goods to the United States, the European Union and ASEAN, respectively, up 59.2 percent, 57.9 percent and 49.0 percent year-on-year. The total amount accounted for 42.2 percent of the city's total exports and accounted for 54.9 percent of Jinhua's export growth.

In addition, foreign trade between Jinhua and RCEP member countries amounted to 27.4 billion yuan, an increase of 60.8 percent year-on-year.

As the the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement took effect on Jan 1, Jinhua has released a three-year action plan to take full advantage of the agreement to promote economic development by innovative developing exports, expanding imports under the RCEP, strengthening trade and economic cooperation with Japan, accelerating the development of new trade formats, creating high-quality foreign capital agglomeration, and strengthening guidance to help enterprises invest in the city.
