Jindong district among provincial all-for-one tourism demonstration zones

Jindong district in Jinhua named an all-for-one tourism demonstration area in Zhejiang province, according to a recent announcement by the provincial government.

The district, covering an area of 661.8 square kilometers, has a permanent population of 506,900.

In recent years, relying on the provincial beautiful rural demonstration area, the provincial leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration area, Jindong district has been working to develop all-for-one tourism and promote the development of the cultural tourism industry in rural areas.

Jindong district began to record tourism statistics in 2015. The number of tourists that year was about 4.04 million, bringing in a total income of 3.03 billion yuan ($475.59 million).

In 2020, despite the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the number of tourists in the district reached 10.23 million, bringing total tourism revenue to 7.9 billion yuan.

The vast improvement of the tourism industry played a key role in increasing people's income and realizing rural vitalization.

Thanks to the implementation of various key cultural tourism projects, the district has been able to build six beautiful rural scenery lines, two national 4A-level scenic spots, 11 national 3A-level scenic spots, and 10 provincial-level tourism industry integration demonstration bases.

The district has also worked to improve public services and supporting facilities for tourism. A total of 215 million yuan has been spent retrofitting toilets in scenic areas and building tourism centers.
