Jinhua sees thriving sales during Spring Festival holiday

From Jan 30 to Feb 5, a period overlapping the seven-day Spring Festival holiday spanning from Jan 31 to Feb 6, the total sales in Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province reached 544 million yuan ($85.57 million), up 1.87 percent from the same period in 2021, according to the latest data from the Jinhua Administration of Commerce.

Sales of home appliances in the city hit 2.48 million yuan over the period, up 18.08 percent from the year before.

The total sales of the city's 17 large- and medium-sized retailers was 73.44 million yuan, more than half of which was contributed by food consumption.

The total ticket revenue for the city's cinemas was 30.69 million yuan, half of which came from the Chinese war epic The Battle at Lake Changjin II.

As of noon on Feb 6, Jinhua authorities had handed out 284 million yuan worth of consumer coupons to citizens, with 57.3 million yuan worth of them already being used.
