Jinhua consumption market sees boost before Spring Festival

Wholesale and retail business in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, selling daily items such as rice, flour, oil, nutrition products, health care products, home appliances, clothing and home textiles, experienced substantial growth just before Spring Festival, local media reported on Jan 27.

According to data from the Jinhua taxation bureau, from Jan 19 to 25 the wholesale and retail invoiced sales of daily necessities increased by 73.93 percent over the same period last year (according to the lunar calendar).

The wholesale and retail invoiced sales of household appliances, hardware and electronic products increased by 52.08 percent year-on-year, while the invoiced sales of cultural and sporting goods and equipment increased by 15.41 percent year-on-year. The invoiced sales of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 22.01 percent year-on-year.

With the help of consumption coupons, sales in the auto retail industry increased by 17.27 percent year-on-year and sales in the supermarket retail industry saw a year-on-year growth of 19.97 percent.

In addition, the city's postal industry saw strong demand for logistics, with invoiced sales increasing by 142.32 percent year-on-year. During this period, local specialties and holiday gifts from all over the country were delivered to homes through the logistics network.
