Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province handled a total of 25.74 billion yuan ($4.04 billion) in export tax rebates and exemptions in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 27 percent, according to the Jinhua taxation bureau.

Tax rebates were valued at 21.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 36 percent and accounting for 13.79 percent of the province's total tax rebates.

As a basic tax policy of the country, export tax rebates have always played an important role in encouraging exports, regulating the economy, promoting economic and social development, and enhancing international competitiveness.

In order to speed up the tax rebate process, the city's taxation bureau has promoted paperless tax refund declarations and an online tax rebate system and relieved capital turnover pressure on export enterprises..

"It used to take three or four months to get the tax refund to the account, but now it takes just three or four days", said Cao Danping, deputy general manager of Jinhua Hanzao Trading Co Ltd.

In addition, the city has greatly simplified procedures for filing, declaration, and certification of export tax rebates, reducing the number of required documents by over 40 percent, and increasing overall declaration efficiency by nearly 30 percent.
