A sea-rail combined freight train loaded with 100 TEUs of goods to be exported departed from East China's International Combined Transport Hub in Jinhua, Zhejiang to Ningbo Zhoushan Port on Dec 30, bringing the monthly load of Jinhua-Ningbo Zhoushan Port sea-rail combined transportation to over 10,000 TEUs for the first time.

The China-Europe freight trains departing from Jinhua carry exported goods from the Yangtze River Delta to other parts of Asia and Europe, and then bring back bulk materials and consumer goods such as electrolytic copper, cotton yarn and paper pulp that are popular among local industries.

As of the end of December, 21 sea-rail combined freight trains going through the Ningbo Zhoushan Port had carried more than 1.2 million boxes in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 19.5 percent.

Jinhua is the only city to operate China-Europe trains in Zhejiang province. In 2021, 1,901 China-Europe freight trains were introduced, a year-on-year increase of 35.9 percent.

The number of China-Europe trains introduced annually in Jinhua accounts for more than 60 percent of the Yangtze River Delta's total and more than 11 percent of the national total. Its biggest advantage lies in the inexhaustible supply of goods in Yiwu's "world supermarket", as well as the strong cargo collection capacity of the national logistics hub.
