The Bafang Electric Branch of the Yiwu Power Supply Company under the State Grid in Yiwu, a county-level city administered by Jinhua, East China's Jiangsu province, has produced electrical equipment for an order from Africa, local media reported on Dec 27.

The order consists of 28 sets of GCS low-voltage cabinets, including four sets of grid-connected cabinets and 70 meters of closed busbar, worth a total of 2.21 million yuan ($348,025).

The order came from a project invested by China Haida Fishery Co Ltd in Angola. This is the first time electrical equipment independently produced by the Yiwu power supply company has entered the African market.

Due to the pandemic, communication for this multinational order mainly depends on video calls. During production, the company has overcome a series of problems encountered for the first time, such as the inability of low-voltage cabinets and enclosed busbars to connect with on-site transformers.

The person in charge of the Yiwu power supply company under the State Grid said that this multinational cooperation will help the company explore the international market. Benefiting from Yiwu's global market and the Belt and Road Initiative, it will provide more opportunities for the company to export equipment and technology in the future.
