Zhu Danxi (1281-1358), known as Mr Danxi by later generations, was a well-known medical scientist of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). He was the founder of the Danxi School and honored as one of the “Four Famous Medical Scientists of the Jin and Yuan Dynasties” together with Liu Wansu, Zhang Congzheng and Li Dongyuan.
