Zhejiang University of Media and Communications (ZUMC) is one of the two leading universities in China specialized in cultivating professionals, talents and other specialists for the broadcasting industry and other industries in media and communications.

For nearly 40 years ZUMC has provided central and local broadcasting and media industries with a myriad of specialized talents. Almost 14,000 full-time students are currently studying under 41 programs at ZUMC. The university has two campuses, one in Xiasha Higher Education Zone, Hangzhou and the other in Tongxiang.

ZUMC consists of 13 self-governing schools and colleges, four departments and nine other research institutes above the provincial level.

The university employs 112 professors, 266 associate professors and 704 teaching and administrative staff who perform all work and support functions for the daily teaching and running of the entire school.

It is well-equipped with advanced teaching and experimental facilities which are worth 330 million yuan ($51.65 million). The 22-storey multi-functional media tower that houses 17 broadcasting studios of various sizes has been a production base for broadcasting radio and television programs, teaching/research activities and social services.

ZUMC has established partnership with more than 50 higher education institutions from countries and regions like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Greece, Belgium, South Korea and Japan.
