Foreign guests attending the 25th China Yiwu International Commodities (Standards) Fair met with Wang Jian, mayor of Yiwu, to discuss possible international trade opportunities on Oct 21.

The guests were either from Yiwu's friendly cities or the foreign consulates of seven countries and regions, including the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia, Poland, and Uzbekistan.

The 25th Yiwu Fair, said Wang, adheres to international standards which not only ensure the quality of Yiwu-made products but facilitate the city's cross-border trade.

Yiwu is looking for more international exchange in the fields of culture, education, and healthcare, according to the mayor.

Rashed Alqemzi, consul general of the United Arab Emirates in Shanghai, said he was surprised by the scale of the Yiwu Fair and is expecting to increase cooperation with the city.
