The foreign trade of Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has showcased remarkable resilience and dynamism this year, with enterprises actively venturing into overseas markets, driving product innovation and service enhancements.

At Leo Pump, 13 production lines of commercial pumps are operating at full tilt, with orders surging by approximately 40 percent compared to last year. "We have eight to nine containers transported daily to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative," said Yan Lingqiang, production director of the company.

Leo Pump, a frontrunner in the domestic pump manufacturing sector, focuses on civil, commercial, and industrial pumps. Its exports hit nearly 1 billion yuan ($137.69 million) in the first half of the year, marking a robust 56.70 percent year-on-year increase.

Meanwhile, Zhejiang Langxiang Industrial Co is witnessing a rise in demand for customized products from overseas clients. The company's production line is churning out electric mobility scooters for seniors as part of a European order, its second batch this year.

Langxiang's strategy of being market-centric has paid off, with its exports reaching 100 million yuan, a 30 percent growth rate year-on-year, while customized products constitute 60 percent of its total orders.

To support enterprises in expanding globally, the Wenling Bureau of Commerce strategically selects key exhibitions for enterprises that can bring more results. The city's foreign trade exports from January to October hit 34.959 billion yuan, up by 10.12 percent, with notable growth in Asian and North American markets, each surpassing 10 percent.
