2026 China University Teacher Development Seminar held at BIT

The 2026 China University Teacher Development Seminar was held at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) on July 16.

The conference brought together over 400 university leaders, department heads, and experts from 169 institutions across China.

In his opening remarks, Wei Yiming, BIT's vice-president, emphasized BIT's commitment to prioritizing teaching. He highlighted the university's three-tier collaborative mechanism for cultivating teachers' ethics and its honorary system that recognizes educational excellence.

Wei noted that BIT has deepened institutional reforms to foster a talent cultivation ecosystem driven by mentorship, leadership, talent aggregation, and multiplier effects. He pledged BIT's readiness to collaborate with peer institutions to build a high-caliber, specialized, and innovative university teaching force, contributing to China's development as a powerhouse in education, science, and technology.

Leaders and experts from renowned domestic universities presented special reports on site.

In the afternoon, nine parallel sessions addressed topics including educator spirit, high-level talent cultivation, teachers' digital literacy, graduate advisor development, internationalization, teacher development centers, institutional trainer development, and digital one-stop services for teachers and students.
