The 10th National Public Management Case Competition recently concluded in Beijing, with the undergraduate team from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) emerging as the national champion, securing the only first prize among hundreds of teams nationwide.
Guided by teachers Deng Jianwei and Yang Yan, the team focused on the practical experience of the Beijing Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team during flood rescue operations. The BIT team stood out from 625 case submissions and hundreds of participating teams to clinch the national championship.
Since its inception in 2017, this competition has attracted over 4,200 teams across the country, gaining significant recognition and influence in the field of public management.
This year's competition included preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds. The BIT team advanced to the semi-finals through an anonymous review process and emerged as the top team among 16 competitors.
In the final defense, the team members demonstrated their composure and logical rigor, placing the Chinese experience in the context of cutting-edge public management discussions. Their solid academic foundation and broad public perspective earned them the highest scores and top honors.
From initial case research and theoretical construction to the defense presentations in the semi-finals and finals, the team excelled in learning, execution, collaboration, and strategic planning.
