Shanghai is accelerating its efforts to build a world-class, market-oriented, law-based and international business environment.
The second season of Shanghai's Business Environment in My Eyes, jointly produced by the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and Wenhui Daily, invites senior executives from foreign companies to share their real experiences of growing in Shanghai. At the start of 2026, Shanghai held its ninth consecutive citywide conference on optimizing the business environment, placing this work at the heart of high-quality development. The city is also advancing its latest action plan, focusing on government services, fair market competition, industrial ecosystems and social co-governance.
This season features eight foreign companies: LEGO, Fotografiska, ZEISS, Johnson & Johnson, Panasonic, Saint-Gobain, Yihai Kerry Arawana and Xylem. Through concrete stories, the series shows how Shanghai improves intellectual property protection, approval efficiency, talent services, targeted support and collaborative governance,turning reform into a stronger sense of confidence and opportunity for enterprises.
