Summer beer carnival brings global brews and World Cup excitement to Qingpu
A summer celebration of beer, food and football is underway in Shanghai's Qingpu district. The 2026 Clover Beer Carnival opened on June 24 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Qingpu district.
The carnival features more than 40 beer brands from around the world, 44 food vendors, and 16 cultural and creative market stalls. Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment, interactive games, and giant-screen broadcasts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The international craft beer zone is a major attraction for beer enthusiasts. Well-known brands including Budweiser, Heineken, and Snow Beer are joined by a selection of Belgian craft beers. Popular Shanghai beer shop Beer Lady is also participating with its signature offerings, while both alcohol-free fruit beers and stronger specialty brews are available. Free beer giveaways, designated driver services, and ride-hailing coupons are also available throughout the event.
Football fans can watch live World Cup matches and replays on a giant outdoor screen, while beer-themed competitions and football challenge games add to the festive atmosphere.
The entertainment program runs from morning until late at night. Visitors can enjoy electronic music performances, robot shows, street flash mobs, and brewing demonstrations during the day. In the evening, light shows, live bands, and DJs keep the celebration going, while community singalongs and neighborhood gatherings welcome visitors of all ages.
A wide variety of food, including crayfish, barbecue, and other beer-friendly snacks, is available alongside local handicrafts, China International Import Expo-themed souvenirs, and trendy products at the creative market.
