Plum rain season brings lotus blooms to Fengxian parks

In Shanghai's Fengxian district, the plum rain season brings days of gentle drizzle, along with spectacular displays of lotus and water lilies. At Shanghai Fish, Nianfeng Park has become one of the district's most popular seasonal destinations, where misty summer rain enhances the beauty of the blooms and draws both residents and visitors.

Located at the eastern end of Nianfeng Road, the park covers about 85,600 square meters and features a diverse range of water lily species. White lilies appear elegant, while purple ones look mysterious, forming a living painting within the rainy-season landscape and offering visitors a calm ecological experience during summer rainfall.

West of Nianfeng Park, the lotus pond in South Shanghai Central Park has also entered peak bloom. Covering about 12 mu (0.8 hectares), it hosts West Lake red lotus and multicolored varieties, with flowering expected to last for about one more month.

Despite rainy weather, the parks continue to attract visitors eager to enjoy the fresh air and seasonal scenery. Authorities say the rainy season lends a distinctive charm to lotus viewing.

As Fengxian continues to advance its park city initiative, its expanding network of green spaces and waterways is drawing growing numbers of residents and tourists to experience the district's unique ecological landscape.
