Shanghai Science and Technology Film Capital draws global attention

From June 20 to 23, the International Film & TV Market of the 2026 Shanghai International Film Festival was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, where Shanghai Science and Technology Film Capital in Songjiang district presented an innovation showcase.

Located at Booth E1-11-1, Shanghai Science and Technology Film Capital presented nine thematic sections including industry development, production resources, and project pipelines, attracting international filmmakers, producers, and buyers for matchmaking opportunities.

A key highlight was the Shanghai High-tech Films and Televisions City AI Creation Ecology Center, co-developed by Shanghai Film Group and Songjiang. The center is building a dedicated computing platform for the film industry and exploring AI in production workflows.

Songjiang has developed its film industry over more than three decades, hosting over 8,000 related enterprises. It advances IP development, film tourism integration, and policy support, creating a comprehensive industrial ecosystem that fosters innovation and sustainable growth.

As part of the International Film & TV Market, Songjiang organized an immersive film production tour from June 21 to 23, inviting industry guests to visit Shanghai Science and Technology Film Capital and the Haopu Smart Industrial Community to experience virtual production, motion capture, and advanced studio technologies firsthand.

The exhibition featured a broader range of exhibitors than previous editions, alongside one-on-one matchmaking sessions and industry events focusing on co-productions, copyright cooperation, platform distribution, IP adaptation, and the overseas expansion of micro-dramas.
