AI experts from 10 countries attend industrial AI training in Shanghai

Artificial intelligence experts from 10 Belt and Road partner countries gathered in Shanghai's Minhang district on June 22 for a 15-day training program on industrial AI applications.

Hosted by China's Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by the Shanghai Academy of Artificial Intelligence, the program aims to strengthen international cooperation in science, technology, and talent development while promoting the application of AI for sustainable industrial growth.

The participants, from countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe, will attend lectures, technical workshops, and academic exchanges at Minhang's Grand Neobay innovation hub.

The program draws on Shanghai's strengths in AI research, industrial innovation, and commercialization. Participants will visit universities, research institutes, and leading AI companies, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SenseTime, TuringQ, and the MindSpore Ecosystem Innovation Center, to gain first-hand insight into China's AI ecosystem.

At the opening ceremony, Fakhriddin Khakimov, chief AI technology development expert at Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technologies, said China has made remarkable progress in AI research, industrial applications, and talent cultivation. He added that Shanghai's experience provides valuable insights for developing countries and expressed hope for closer international cooperation.

Representatives from Hungary, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, the Philippines, Romania, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam also introduced AI development and industrial priorities in their countries, laying the foundation for future cooperation.

The participants also visited the Shanghai Academy of Artificial Intelligence to learn about its latest advances in AI research, industrial collaboration, and innovation.
