At a certification event on May 15, Shanghai Chaifu Robot Co Ltd was officially recognized after its CR5000-3700 heavy-duty industrial robot lifted a load of 5,000.36 kilograms, surpassing the previous record of 2,300 kilograms set by FANUC Corporation in 2016.

The robot stands 3.66 meters tall and weighs 19 metric tons. It can lift and transport heavy loads with repeat positioning accuracy within 0.3 millimeters, according to the company's official records.

The company said the robot's core systems, including the RV reducer, servo drive and intelligent control systems, were independently developed and manufactured in-house.

Company Chairman Chen Youli said the achievement reflects long-term research in heavy-duty robotics and improvements in key component technologies.

The robot has been deployed in industrial scenarios including rail transit, new energy vehicle manufacturing, nuclear power, metallurgy and tunnel construction. It is designed to improve operational efficiency while reducing human involvement in high-risk and heavy-load tasks.
