A group of journalists and photographers from Serbian media, including Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS), Telegrafska Agencija Nove Jugoslavije (Tanjug), Info TV and PINK TV, were captivated by a "scruffy puppy" floral installation showcased at the Suhewan central green space in Jing'an district, Shanghai, on May 10.

At the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, they embarked on a mid-May visit to China. On their stop in Shanghai, they visited the Suhewan central green space to capture the Jing'an International Flower Show. Their journey along the Suzhou Creek offered a vibrant glimpse into the city's floral artistry.

A woman journalist from Tanjug was particularly drawn to a floral sculpture of a puppy. The creativity here is astounding, she said. "In Serbia, we have stone bird sculptures, but a floral puppy of this size is a first for me."

The springtime atmosphere of the Suhewan area also captivated another journalist from Info TV. She said that Shanghai is full of surprises, saying, "The city is lush with greenery, and this adorable 'star' adds a unique charm".

The journalists learned that the "scruffy puppy" was seeking a name, and they eagerly suggested names inspired by Serbian culture. One of them proposed "Rocco", inspired by the film "Rocky", symbolizing hidden strength. Others suggested "Lucky", "Jasmine", "Jackie" or "Cookie", all popular Serbian names for dogs.

This "scruffy puppy" became a symbol of the enduring friendship between China and Serbia, capturing the essence of Shanghai's blend of urban charm and everyday warmth. The journalists aim to share these stories back home, highlighting the depth of cultural exchange and mutual learning.
