Songjiang commercial areas see holiday boost
During the Labor Day holiday, Songjiang boosted consumption aligned with the Shanghai Shopping Festival. Key malls recorded strong revenue growth and high visitor turnout across the district.
Songjiang inCity topped the revenue chart with 54.34 million yuan ($7.97 million), showing a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percent. Following closely was Songjiang Wanda Plaza, which generated 40 million yuan and experienced a year-on-year growth of 28.6 percent. Ludu International Commercial Square emerged as a surprising contender, posting a 24.4 percent increase over the previous year.
Newly monitored Sijing Daju and Yueyang Daju impression halls also performed strongly, indicating that the recovery in consumption was broad-based. Both established and new commercial areas contributed to overall market confidence and higher visitor engagement.
Wanda Plaza hosted a youth-friendly market with over 50 themed stalls and the iFLYTEK Zootopia AI Tech Exhibition. Wulong Plaza offered pet adoption, double reward points, and family workshops, linking shopping with interactive experiences.

Longhu Shanghai Yunlang Tianjie celebrated its fifth anniversary with a market, concert, and DIY workshops. InCity Food Carnival gathered more than 30 local vendors, while livestream sessions attracted over 10,000 online viewers.
Songjiang piloted Alipay consumption vouchers covering multiple business formats. Wanda Plaza and Suning offered tiered coupons. District officials said policy support, events, and engaging scenarios aim to sustain spending and extend influence in culture, pet, and automotive markets.
