Pudong Airport enhances services for international travelers
Shanghai Pudong International Airport is enhancing its services to accommodate the rise in international passenger traffic.
Travelers can now access streamlined arrival information via self-service kiosks before immigration, offering guidance on procedures, terminal facilities, and Wi-Fi access. QR codes provide detailed instructions for filling out arrival cards and tax refunds.
In the baggage claim area, an integrated service zone offers SIM cards, Wi-Fi rentals, and currency exchange. The International Services Shanghai one-stop center in the arrivals hall provides payment support, tourism information, and transportation assistance. Visitors can also apply for short-term SIM cards and purchase "Shanghai Pass" cards for public transport and shopping.
For those without a Chinese SIM card, free Wi-Fi access is available by scanning a passport. First-time travelers can use an English guide for airport navigation. Long layovers are more comfortable with free showers and rest areas, including rest pods.
Additionally, the airport has improved tax refund efficiency by 30 percent through a new process combining self-service machines and staff support, saving travelers time during departures.
