Flower festival blooms in southern Shanghai

The Shanghai International Flower Show dazzles at Bubble Park and Dingfeng Soy Sauce Garden in Shanghai's Fengxian district from April 25 to May 22, with the theme "Blooming South Shanghai". This year's festival emphasizes youth collaborative innovation and urban renewal, weaving together the floral landscapes and cultural elements of old and new city areas along the Punan Canal.

The festival features 12 themed floral spots, four specially invited gardens, and 14 future gardens designed by universities in the Yangtze River Delta.

In the 12 themed floral spots, visitors can enjoy a poetic blend of nature and youth as they explore vibrant displays of hydrangeas, delphiniums, and salvias, alongside striking new varieties, edible roses, and rosemary.

Special invited gardens, such as "Basket of Vegetables" and "Leaf Vein Paradise," integrate technology with creativity, offering urban agriculture innovations and therapeutic paths for children.

The University Student Garden Festival showcases imaginative interpretations of future gardens by students from 14 universities, emphasizing ecological integration and community engagement.

At the Dingfeng Soy Sauce Garden, historical industrial sites are transformed into seven corporate gardens and five creatively repurposed landscapes, merging past and present through modern horticulture. Art installations and AR technology breathe new life into these spaces, creating interactive and immersive experiences for visitors.

The festival also includes a bonsai exhibition titled "The Art of Time," which presents exquisite miniature landscapes, offering a serene and immersive exploration of Chinese aesthetics.

This vibrant celebration of flowers is not only a visual delight but also a cultural and educational experience, inviting visitors of all ages to engage and enjoy.
