Sino-Austrian eco-innovation dialogue held in Baoshan, Shanghai

Panda trifft Panther China-Austria Salon recently convened at the Gaojing Sci-tech Innovation Center in the Baoshan district of Shanghai. The event focused on fostering ecological and biotechnological cooperation between China and Austria.

The event was organized by the Baoshan district commission of commerce and the Gaojing town government, with Shanghai Jiangwan Nonggongshang Industry Co as the host.

During the promotion session, Baoshan detailed supportive policies for foreign investment and regional headquarters, while Gaojing town showcased its green industry foundation and high-quality industrial spaces. The Austrian delegation, including Bernhard Puttinger, CEO of the Green Tech Cluster and Karl Putz, CEO of Sowatec, joined local business representatives to discuss collaboration in green innovation and biotechnology.

In recent years, Baoshan district has accelerated its green and low-carbon transitions, focusing on emerging sectors such as energy conservation, environmental protection, and biotechnology. The Austrian delegation, with expertise in green technology, industrial biotechnology and soil remediation, aligns well with Baoshan's industrial strategy.

During the meeting, Baoshan showcased local resources in environmental engineering and green manufacturing. Puttinger shared insights into Austria's experience with green technology incubation, while Putz highlighted Sowatec's cutting-edge soil remediation technologies. Representatives of participating companies engaged in discussions on soil remediation projects and conducted in-depth exchanges with local enterprises.

This event served as a bridge for green and low-carbon initiatives, connecting Austrian resources with local needs, enhancing Sino-Austrian industrial cooperation and boosting Baoshan's international investment appeal.
