Entry is free and no reservation is required, making the site an easy countryside outing for residents and tourists seeking a relaxed spring escape near the city, at any time of day.
The forest was among Shanghai's first open forest projects launched in 2020. Covering about 1,079 mu (71.93 hectares), it has become a popular getaway, with the cherry-lined avenue serving as its main attraction.

At peak bloom, Yoshino cherries shift from pale pink to nearly white, giving the landscape a soft, cloudlike look. Petals drift in the wind, creating a quiet walk beneath branches.
The forest also features 3 kilometers of under-canopy trails, a 2-kilometer half-marathon route, and a winding riverside path on its southern side, allowing visitors to enjoy spring scenery while staying active.
For added convenience, the site includes fitness paths, pavilions, benches, an open parking lot, and public toilets. These facilities make it suitable for a brief stop or a full-day trip.
