The new committee brings together leading companies, including Renhe Quanyu (Shanghai) Great Health Research Institute, Shanghai Institute of Technology, Shanghai Maxam, Shanghai Kedai Biotech, and Shanghai Maikunte Pharmaceutical Technology.
As part of its efforts to promote fashion consumption, Taopu town has designated Liyuan Innovation and Creation Tower as the first specialized hub for cosmetics, skincare and health product brands.
In the first two months of 2026, Putuo's fashion consumer goods sector grew by 11.6 percent year-on-year, while the broader digital health industry grew by 4.4 percent, reaching a scale of over 70 billion yuan (about $10 million).
The district is also seeing an increase in international collaboration. Korean entrepreneur Yoon Gil-young recently registered a skincare products company in Taopu, focusing on raw material R&D and market sales. Local company Peterson's Lab has demonstrated remarkable growth, with revenue climbing from millions to over 300 million yuan since relocating to Taopu in 2023.
