Shanghai's Guyi Garden ushers in peony season
The first peony of spring, named Tongyun, has blossomed at Shanghai's Guyi Garden in Jiading district, marking the start of the garden's annual spring festival, which runs until May 5.
Guyi Garden features over 1,000 peony plants, with peak blooming expected from early to mid-April. Visitors can enjoy themed exhibitions, including peony-derived products and traditional lacquerware.
On April 12, the Huazhao Festival will feature a parade of the Twelve Flower Gods, with free entry for visitors in traditional costumes. From March 13 to May 5, a 20 percent discount is available on adult admission with Shanghai Auto Culture Festival ticket stubs.
