Taizhou (Shanghai) Innovation Center launched in Putuo, Shanghai

The Taizhou (Shanghai) Innovation Center was officially launched last week at T-Center in Putuo district, Shanghai, as the first city along the Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt to establish a sci-tech innovation outpost.

The Shanghai-Nanjing Industrial Innovation Belt encompasses Shanghai's Putuo district and eight cities in East China's Jiangsu province, including Taizhou. This region is one of China's most active economic areas. Although it occupies less than 0.6 percent of the nation's land area, it contributes to 11.85 percent of China's GDP, underscoring its substantial economic impact and potential for future growth.

By establishing the innovation center in Shanghai, Taizhou is effectively transforming the concept of "R&D in Shanghai while industrial application along the belt" into practice. This networked collaboration breaks the traditional "center-periphery" radiation model, creating a multi-center, flat collaborative innovation ecosystem.

The annual activity plan released by the Taizhou (Shanghai) Innovation Center, along with the comprehensive financial services tailored by the Bank of Jiangsu Taizhou Branch, exemplifies the extension of "soft connectivity". It signifies a shift from "adjacency" in physical space to "integration" in institutional design.
