Shanghai's Youche village in Tinglin town now features more than 180 acres (72.8 hectares) of striking, multicolored rapeseed flowers, drawing visitors during the best viewing period from now until mid-April. To enhance the experience for spring tourists, the site has introduced a new village cafe and the historic Sanhede eatery, offering more than just sightseeing opportunities.

On a recent March afternoon, visitors drove in to stroll through the fields and snap photos of the vibrant blossoms. The gentle breeze made flowers sway and lent the air a fresh floral fragrance, creating a picturesque scene that highlights rural vitalization in this Shanghai demonstration village.

To expand visitor offerings, the village welcomed two food and drink spots at Youchefang this year. The village cafe serves coffee and Western-style desserts, while Sanhede, a respected local brand, offers traditional Chinese pastries and noodles.

Cafe owner Feng Jianying, a resident of Thames town, Songjiang, said he was inspired to open the wood-styled cafe after visiting the fields and appreciating the natural surroundings. The cafe offers both outdoor and indoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy quality coffee while immersing themselves in the countryside landscape.

With flower viewing still at its peak from March and into April, organizers hope that the blend of scenic beauty, rural culture and new dining options will make Youche village a standout spring destination for both local and international visitors.
