Shanghai thrills with sold-out 2026 F1 Grand Prix

The 2026 Formula One Heineken Chinese Grand Prix has begun in Shanghai, drawing a record 230,000 spectators to the Shanghai International Circuit. This marks the highest attendance in 20 years for the event.

Following Mercedes' victory in Melbourne and amid significant new rule changes, global attention is on Shanghai. The city is hosting the season's first F1 sprint round from March 13 to 15, starting with practice sessions and sprint qualifying.

Shanghai has fully embraced the F1 excitement, featuring events like the Checkered Flag Carnival and a LEGO F1-themed metro. The carnival, which began on March 8, spans four key venues and offers race screenings, car shows, and go-karting experiences. The LEGO-themed metro on Line 11 has also become a popular attraction, enhancing the city's racing atmosphere.
