International and domestic runners praise Shanghai Women's Half Marathon

The 2026 Shanghai Women's Half Marathon took place in Changning district on March 8, coinciding with International Women's Day, and attracted a large number of female runners from around the world. With a fresh event experience, it left participants with lasting memories. Both local and international runners praised the event's atmosphere and organization.

Champion Pan Hong, returning after five years, was impressed by the race's improvements. "The course was flatter, and the spectators cheered me on, helping me achieve my personal best," she said. Celebrating International Women's Day, Pan shared her joy with all women, wishing them happiness, beauty, and health.

Domestic runners were equally impressed by the event's thoughtful services and ceremony. Liu Shanying from Lishui, Zhejiang province, highlighted the cheering crowds and special touches, like receiving a flower wreath at the finish line. "The event was well-organized, and I hope to participate every year," she said.

International participants also left with positive impressions. Emma, a marathon veteran from France, ran through illness, calling the event one of her favorites. An Italian runner praised the warm atmosphere, the support from volunteers and fellow runners, and the beautiful scenery along the course.
