Annette Rinck, global president of Leica Microsystems under Danaher, accompanied German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on his visit to China. During the trip, she participated in high-level dialogues with government, business, academic and industry leaders.

At the China-Germany economic advisory committee meeting, Rinck spoke about Leica's nearly 40-year commitment to China, focusing on local R&D and manufacturing, as well as on maintaining strong partnerships with Chinese companies. This investment is based on Leica's 175 years of innovation.

Rinck emphasized that scientific progress depends on open collaboration, reliable supply chains, and strong interaction between research and industry. She believes that true progress transcends borders and ultimately benefits everyone globally.

Since entering China in 1985, Leica Microsystems' technologies have been widely utilized in life sciences, precision manufacturing, and ophthalmic surgery. The company supports cancer research, drug development, and the new energy industry, driving significant advancements in these fields.

Leica has established 11 localized production lines in China that cater to life sciences, industrial, and medical sectors. The Jinqiao factory, which has been operational for over 30 years, is expanding its capacity and aims to produce over 70 percent of the products sold in China within the next five years.

Leica Microsystems is committed to strengthening its presence in China by supporting local innovation and industrial development. This aligns with Danaher's strategy to improve global competitiveness and contribute to China's scientific and industrial growth.

Leica Microsystems intends to deepen its integration into China's technological landscape, placing a strong emphasis on fostering local innovation. The company aims to drive advancements in critical areas like biotechnology and precision manufacturing, contributing to China's long-term industrial transformation.
