A night-time drone light show at Huakai Haishang Ecological Park in Shanghai has become a highlight of the Plum Blossom Festival, offering visitors a blend of technology and scenic beauty.

Hundreds of drones paint the night sky with colorful light formations above the park's 200-acre (80.9-hectare) plum garden, creating a unique spring experience for tourists.

On March evenings, visitors gather as drone formations glow like fireflies and reshape into dramatic figures in the sky, enhancing the traditional blossom viewing with a spectacular visual show. Many take photos and videos to capture the vivid scenes beneath fragrant plum trees in bloom.

The drone performance is part of the park's upgraded plum blossom night tour light-and-shadow show, which complements daytime blossom viewing with an immersive LED and drone lighting experience. Thousands of multi-coloured LED lights illuminate forest paths and water edges, adding depth to the night landscape.

Organizers say the drone light shows will continue through multiple weekends and the Qingming Festival holiday, giving travelers more chances to enjoy the spectacle. Admission to the park during the day includes access to the evening show, with special discounts available for night entry.
