6th Jinshan Plum Blossom Festival opens at Huicui Garden

Shanghai's Jinshan district has launched its sixth Plum Blossom Festival at Huicui Garden, with colorful plum blossoms attracting visitors to take photos and participate in traditional games.

Various plum varieties are in full bloom, presenting a charming spring scene. Many residents and tourists attended the opening day on Feb 10, trying their luck at lantern riddles, ring-toss challenges and blind box games, with opportunities to win prizes.

"We joined the lantern riddle and ring-toss games," said resident Mr Yue. "The festival is very well organized, and we had a great time. The plum blossoms are also beautiful."

Organizers said the festival also features plum gifting, poetry and calligraphy displays, and garden-wide check-in zones. Exhibition boards introduced the cultural significance of plum blossoms, while works by teachers and students from a senior art college added artistic flair.

According to Ding Huiting, a park official from Jinshan's garden management office, the festival is expected to run until mid-March. The garden features about seven plum varieties and more than 100 plum trees, offering a scenic and interactive destination for visitors this spring.
