Westwell secures 60 e-trucks order at Westports Malaysia
Chinese smart logistics firm Westwell has signed a major deal with Westports Malaysia to supply 60 ETrucks and PowerOnair battery-swap stations for Port Klang, boosting the port's green transformation and fleet electrification across ASEAN.
Port Klang, along the Strait of Malacca, handles over half of Klang Valley's container traffic and is among Southeast Asia's three main transshipment hubs. Expansion will increase annual container capacity from 14 million TEU to 27 million TEU, reinforcing its strategic role in regional trade.
This builds on an ongoing partnership: Westports introduced Westwell's autonomous Q-Truck in 2022, and Westwell was named a top automation equipment partner in 2024. The new 60-truck order marks the largest single E-Truck deployment at the terminal.

Each E-Truck uses a 282 kWh battery with a 150 km range, delivering zero emissions and low noise. PowerOnair stations perform fully automated five-minute battery swaps, while the CSS charging system improves fleet efficiency and reduces charging infrastructure needs.
Westwell will provide full lifecycle services, including deployment, system integration, and local maintenance, supported by on-site teams and a parts center to ensure long-term operations.
Westports Executive Chairman Datuk Ruben Emir Gnanalingam called Westwell a key automation partner, while Westwell Founder Kenny Tan emphasized the firm's commitment to AI-driven smart logistics across ASEAN.
