Jiading sees trade boom in 2025

Shanghai's Jiading district reported a significant rise in its imports and exports in 2025, reaching a total value of 199.02 billion yuan ($28.63 billion), marking a 3.8 percent increase from the previous year. This growth was fueled by new policies designed to enhance foreign trade and support companies in expanding their international reach.

A key player in this success was the Shanghai Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which experienced a 14.9 percent increase in trade value, totaling 12.39 billion yuan. The zone's appeal was underscored by the addition of 594 new businesses, a 40.43 percent increase compared to the previous year.

A significant development within the zone was the opening of the International Racing Bonded Service Center in early 2025. This center has facilitated the temporary entry, storage, and export of over 500 racing cars and provided bonded services for 24 test vehicles.

In addition to these developments, the zone expanded its bonded repair services, allowing companies to cut costs and boost efficiency. United Imaging Healthcare, for example, benefited from having several major products included in a national list for bonded repairs, enabling the expansion of its repair services.

Looking forward to 2026, Jiading district aims to bolster its trade by supporting key industries such as automobiles, electronics, and medical devices. The district plans to enhance its bonded services further and attract new businesses to sustain its growth momentum.
