Shanghai's Nanxiang Ancient Town in Jiading district has come alive with a vibrant lantern exhibition in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year.

The display welcomes visitors nightly from 5:30 to 10 pm, heralding the Year of the Horse.

The exhibition's highlight is a stunning array of large, rotating lanterns that vividly depict local features, including Nanxiang town's famed steamed stuffed buns. Horse-shaped lanterns elegantly decorate the trees and historic streets, casting a warm, festive glow throughout the area.

Visitors are enchanted by the illuminated streets, with many expressing how the lanterns evoke a strong New Year's spirit. "The festive atmosphere is strong here," one visitor remarked.

"I bring my child every year. It's more meaningful now because it's my zodiac year, the Year of the Horse," another visitor shared.

In addition to the lanterns, Nanxiang is set to host cultural performances, art exhibitions, and traditional markets throughout the festival, which continues until early March.
