According to the district's government work report released on Jan 20, Shanghai's Yangpu district reported robust growth in foreign trade and significant achievements in attracting high-quality foreign investment in 2025, as its opening-up drive continues to deepen.

In 2025, the district's foreign trade import and export volume soared by 14.8 percent year-on-year, a testament to its thriving trade vitality. To further propel digital trade development, Yangpu rolled out a three-year plan for constructing a digital trade cluster, laying a solid foundation for making Shanghai a core hub of digital trade in Shanghai.

The district's pro-openness policies have successfully drawn many top global institutions and upscale foreign projects. The Swiss Bluefaer Innovation Center and Nike Global Creative Center have established their presence in Yangpu, injecting new impetus into the district's industrial upgrading and innovation-driven development.

Additionally, Yangpu has recognized two new regional headquarters of multinational corporations and foreign-invested research and development centers, broadening its high-end foreign investment portfolio and improving the structure of foreign capital utilization. Yangpu also hosted a global promotion conference to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.

Looking ahead to 2026, the district plans to accelerate building the digital trade cluster and implement an upgrade plan for foreign-funded R&D centers, aiming to create a more open, inclusive, and high-quality business ecosystem that attracts more global high-end resources and projects.
