Guyi Garden blossoms with winter colors
Guyi Garden in Shanghai's Jiading district is bursting with color as camellias, wintersweets, and early plum blossoms grace the landscape.
Over 50 camellias stand resilient against the cold, their lush green leaves and vibrant flowers adding life to the garden. These blooms, lasting from November to March, provide a cheerful splash of color during the winter months.
The air is filled with the sweet scent of wintersweets, whose yellow flowers shine like amber in the sunlight. With more than 200 wintersweet trees scattered throughout, the garden offers the best viewing until mid-February.
Some trees are strategically placed in hidden corners and near water, creating a charming blend of scents and sights that, along with traditional pavilions, resemble a classical painting and attract many photographers.
Warmer winter temperatures have also encouraged early plum blossoms, adding even more vibrancy to the garden's winter display.
