Hongkou district rings in Chinese New Year with festivities

Shanghai's Hongkou district is welcoming the Chinese New Year with a variety of celebration events that showcase Haipai, or Shanghai-style culture, with a special highlight on a lantern fair.

The district aims to provide a comprehensive cultural, tourism, and commercial experience by blending traditional customs with modern attractions. It has introduced a Spring Festival Accommodation Gift Package and launched the Hongkou District Online Shopping Festival.

Hongkou's century-old alleyways have been transformed into a vibrant marketplace featuring lantern installations and traditional crafts, celebrating a fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
