City unveils 'Global Taste in Shanghai 2026' culinary extravaganza

Shanghai is set to tantalize taste buds in 2026 with "Global Taste in Shanghai", a year-long program that integrates international cuisine into the city's vibrant life.

It promises to elevate the city's culinary scene through a structured calendar of food-centered activities, ensuring continued engagement throughout the year.

Each quarter will spotlight a regional theme — Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Fusion — while monthly highlights focus on individual countries. The program also features a Spring Festival-centric event, anchoring the cultural and emotional aspects of the year.

Seasonal Flavors and Themes

- January to March: European flavors kick off the year, aligning with festivities like the Spring Festival. Italian, Spanish, and French cuisines will be the stars.

- April to June: The Americas take center stage, coinciding with major city events. Mexican, Brazilian, and Caribbean cuisines will offer culinary journeys through theme-based dining experiences.

- July to September: Asian flavors dominate, with a focus on family and young travelers. Chinese, Southeast Asian, and South Asian cuisines will be highlighted.

- October to December: A "flavor without borders" phase will emphasize global food resources, baking, and culinary ingredients, linked to events like the China International Import Expo.
