Shanghai unveils 2026 sports calendar with major international events

Shanghai kicked off its 2026 sports calendar on Jan 1, featuring 165 events, including the F1 Chinese Grand Prix and Global Champions Tour.
The F1 Grand Prix, scheduled for March 13-15 at the Shanghai International Circuit, will be the season's first sprint event, with 22 cars and female drivers participating.
In May, Shanghai will host the Archery World Cup and Ironman 70.3 Shanghai, while October's National Day holiday will feature the ATP Masters 1000 and the UCI Track World Championships, marking its first time on the Chinese mainland.
The Shanghai Marathon will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Dec 6 with a separate five-kilometer event the day before.
