Dohler Group opens R&D Center in Shanghai
German food and beverage ingredients supplier Dohler Group celebrated the opening of its new Asia-Pacific R&D center in Shanghai's Minhang district on Dec 5. This marks a significant step in the company's expansion in China.
With an investment of over €4.2 million ($4.89 million), the facility aims to hire high-level researchers. It is one of Dohler's three main global research hubs, focusing on the needs of the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets. The center will work on innovative and sustainable solutions for the food and beverage industry.
Dohler, known for its expertise in natural ingredients, has been operating in China since 1996. Shanghai has served as a key base for its growth, where Dohler established its first production and application center.
Dohler Shanghai has been recognized as a multinational regional headquarters by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. The company has expanded its focus from beverages to diverse sectors like catering, dairy, and health products.
The new R&D building, completed in just 10 months, includes laboratories for various research areas. Roman Kupper, president of Dohler Asia-Pacific, stated that the center would be a "technology hub" for the region, driving innovation and benefiting customers worldwide.
