Atasu Group's contribution to the One Belt, One Road project
The far-reaching initiative "One Belt, One Road" introduced by China has been being implemented for more than 10 years. To date, more than 150 countries have signed cooperation agreements with China under this program.

Atasu Group, Kazakhstani private logistics company, has been contributing to and actively participating in the program since its launch. In this way, the company facilitates the establishment of sustainable and modern transport corridors on the Silk Road, where Kazakhstan holds the main position as a transit bridge between China and Europe.
Atasu Group is a key innovative logistics operator and plays an important role in the implementation of such strategic international programs as "One Belt, One Road". For this purpose, the company has all the opportunities and potential. This private business is rapidly developing thanks to the investments and it has become a fundamental element in the formation of the country's modern logistics architecture.
The company has invested over $300 million in purchasing machinery and developing logistics infrastructure and modernizing sites in Kazakhstan. This infrastructure allows tens of thousands of tons of cargo from construction materials to high-tech equipment to pass through every day.
Atasu Group is a multimodal transportation and logistics company that connects more than 30 countries around the world. The company's capacity and potential ensure its active participation in large-scale projects which inspires the confidence of international partners.
Strategic assets and infrastructure
Atasu Group has made a major contribution to the infrastructure of Kazakhstan: three full-fledged transport and logistics centers (TLC): Dostyk Cargo Service, Zhetysu Terminal, IMD Company.
The company owns more than 6,500 rail cars in operation, over 350 trucks in operation, 38 shunting and mainline locomotives, temporary storage warehouses (TSW), and certified zones with customs control.
Digital logistics including Solvo.TOS, WMS is used in daily operations for online tracking.
Today, three key transportation and logistics centers form the core of the company's multimodal network:
Dostyk Cargo Service TLC is the gateway to Kazakhstan from China. The terminal is part of the overland "Silk Road"; it serves container and carload shipments, providing redirection of railcars to different railroad tracks. The total area of the terminal is 180,000 square meters; and the TLC handles 5,000 railcars and 1,500 trucks per month
Zhetysu Terminal TLC is a logistics center outside the city of Almaty in southeastern Kazakhstan, handling a wide range of cargo from inert materials to industrial equipment. The center is heavily involved in industry in the region and ensures stability of supply both on international and domestic routes.
The total area is 220,000 square meters. The TLC handles 3,000 railcars and 1,000 trucks per month.
IMD Company TLC is one of the largest terminals in Kazakhstan, located outside the city of Almaty; it combines railroad, automobile and warehouse logistics. TLC is suitable for distribution of goods, including products requiring special storage conditions and prompt delivery.
The total area of the terminal is 750,000 square meters; and the TLC handles 7,000 railcars and 2 500 trucks per month.
Development strategy and potential
In the next three years, Atasu Group plans to carry out major projects to develop infrastructure and create new opportunities with total investment of more than $240 million.
These include the construction and expansion of big transport and logistics centers, which will attract larger cargo flows. They are important for the key railway junction on the border with China and play a central role in ensuring transit traffic between Asia and Europe. The development and commissioning of new infrastructure facilities will reduce railcar idle time waiting for reloading, increase terminal capacity and strengthen the Atasu Group's transportation position in Eurasian logistics.
The new projects will not only provide more efficient logistics Kazakhstan, but will also increase the transit potential of the country, increase the volume of exports, and ensure great opportunity and advantages for all participants in the transportation process from other countries, especially China.
New TLCs will become an important hub not only for exports of Kazakhstani products and increase the transit potential of the country, but also have a huge potential and play a big role for all players in the global logistics market as they will increase cargo turnover through Kazakhstan and improve the quality of cargo transportation of any size.
The Atasu Group's strategy is to invest in the construction of new modern logistics terminals equipped with cutting-edge technology. These terminals will ensure faster and more efficient cargo handling, reducing downtime and increasing the throughput capability. This will significantly increase the amount of cargo handled per unit of time, which is especially important with the growth in volumes from China, Europe and Asia. The new terminals will be located at key logistics hubs, expanding the company's delivery geography and reduce transportation costs.
The establishment of modern terminals will allow Atasu Group to become a more attractive partner for international transportation companies, which will be able to expand cargo transportation to many countries around the world.
